Everyone can help save the earth!

Welcome back!

Today's topic of the blog will be something that's been on my mind for quite some time now. We've seen our world going through irreversible changes like recent Amazon rainforest wildfires or any other cataclysm, you name it. The human race has been abusing of natural resources for years, decades and centuries now to the point that we start seeing clearly that mother nature can't take this anymore — she's had enough! The number of trees in the world is decreasing rapidly and the amount of carbon dioxide in the air is increasing! Luckily, there are people, young people, who truly care about the planet and are willing to help change the situation.

What started as a joke on reddit page of the most subscribed Youtuber turned out to be a mission of a salvation! In May of this year there were memes on Pewdiepie´s subreddit that encouraged MrBeast to plant 20 million trees to celebrate him hitting 20 million subscribers on Youtube.  MrBeast is a big fan of Pewdiepie and helped him gain subscribers in his "fight" with T-Series to reach 100 million subscibers first and remain the biggest Youtuber in the world. After all that, Pewdiepie´s fans considered MrBeast "saint". No wonder, memes about him frequently appeared in most subscribed Youtuber´s videos.

This past October 25, MrBeast posted a video on his channel titled "Planting 20,000,000 Trees, My Biggest Project Ever!". Youtuber and his team themselves planted 2000 trees in one day and then he announced the launch of the campaign called TeamTrees which is aimed to raise 20 million dollars for Arbor Day Foundation who will be planting all of those trees in the next 3 years starting January 1, 2020. 1 dollar is equivalent of 1 tree, so anyone can help! So far, they've raised more than 14 million dollars. Even Elon Musk donated 1 million dollars and I honestly can't get over it! See how massive this is?!

This whole thing makes me think that humanity still has a chance for better future and the fact that this idea came from meme society, aka my favorite society, cracks me up. It actually made me rethink my lifestyle and what I can do to help. One of the first things I did is tried to reduce the use of plastic in my everyday life and eat less meat. Small things count too, right?

Anyways, let's leave it here and I hope you have a great day!
